KAREN SOLEAU, a Jersey Shore native, studied Illustration and Design at Parsons School of Design in NY City. In 1983, she moved to San Francisco where she further refined her Graphic Design skills at the Academy of Art University.

Karen began her professional career as an in-house Art Director for the SF Symphony program magazine before becoming a full-time freelance artist and illustrator. Her work has appeared on book covers, educational textbooks, greeting cards, calendars, textiles and magazines in both North America and Canada. In addition to her commercial illustrations, Karen has expanded her business to include custom website design; her latest passion.

When not in her studio, you can usually find Karen traipsing through redwood trees, rowing the Oakland Estuary, flyfishing, or making chicken wire crowns.
